When your new appliance arrives, the last thing you want is to worry about what to do with the old one. PJW Electrics offers a hassle-free old appliance collection and recycling service, ensuring your old machine is disposed of safely and in line with WEEE regulations.

Our recycling service covers the following freestanding appliances:

How to Add the Service to Your Order
Simply add the Recycle Old Appliance service to your basket alongside your new appliance purchase. Our team will coordinate collection at the time of your delivery — no separate booking required.

Preparing Your Appliance for Collection
To help our team collect your old appliance safely and efficiently, please ensure the following before your delivery day:
- Washing machines & dishwashers: Disconnect from the water supply and drainage. Run a spin cycle to remove as much water as possible.
- Tumble dryers: Disconnect from the power supply. Remove any laundry and clean the lint filter.
- Fridge-freezers & freezers: Defrost fully and leave the door open overnight to dry out. Disconnect from power at least 24 hours before collection. (Please note: built-in or integrated refrigeration appliances are not currently covered by this service.)
- Cookers & hobs: Disconnect from the mains. Gas appliances must be disconnected by a Gas Safe registered engineer prior to collection — our team cannot disconnect gas supplies on site.
- All appliances must be accessible and positioned at ground-floor level or with lift access.
- If you have purchased an installation service alongside the recycling you do not have to disconnect the appliance yourself, this is included.
Collection takes place at the time of your new appliance delivery. Our delivery team will remove the old appliance as part of the same visit. There is no need to arrange a separate collection appointment.
Fee
The recycling and collection service is charged at £20.00 per appliance. This is added as a separate item to your order.

Can you collect more than one old appliance?
No — unfortunately we can only collect the like for like.
What happens to my old appliance?
All appliances are disposed of in accordance with WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) regulations. Components are recycled wherever possible.
Can I book collection without purchasing a new appliance?
The collection service is currently offered as an add-on to new appliance deliveries only. Please contact us if you have a specific requirement.
What if my appliance is built-in or integrated?
This service covers freestanding appliances only. For integrated or built-in appliances, please contact us to discuss options.
